my mom's birthday is coming up in about 10 days, and I had no clue what to get her so i was thinkingof getting her a basket and put a bunchof things in it. I know im gonna put flowers in it, but what else? thanks! (it cant be that expensive )
Basket full of things for my MOMS BIRTHDAY?
Little things she likes like her favorite chocolates, her favorite cheese, her favorite wine. Look around her facial products and see what she's running short of, look around. I can be a little sneaky with those things, I seem to be able to spot what my mother is running short of. Try it and see if you can do the same. She will love something that is useful to her or that she likes and will enjoy.
Reply:When i run out of ideas, that is what i do for my mother too. Birthdays, Christmas or Mothers Day. I put a ribbon round the basket and always choose her favourite colours. Then i go about chucking in anything that comes to mind and which i know she would appreciate. In your case, since you intend putting in some flowers, then i don't suggest you put in food, sweets or cake but stick to perfumes and objects. Also, find a beautiful photograph of her holding you when you were just a baby or another photo which you know brings her happy memories. Frame it and put that in too. And if you could write a simple poem to go with it that would be ideal. If she likes to read, you could put in a book, or a book voucher. These are all suggestions that don't cost a bomb but which your mother would definitely treasure.
Reply:Items to think about and save money
You can go to Bath and Body Works and probably find a sale on scented items like body wash, body spray and body cream. Try raspberry, peach or lemon scents.
Also try your local drug store they should have the same products from a different brand that will cost even less. You can also pick up small box of candy at the drug store or even get a small sampler box at godiva for about 12 bucks. Remember to get a card from the drug store.
Buy a few magazines and place in the basket like Glamour, Good Housekeeping, Oparh...whatever looks fun....check out the magazines that are under $2 that are also fun.
You can get a happy birthday balloon at your local card shop, drug store or grocey market and tie that to the basket.
The basket will be amazing with flowers, candy, magazine, scented lotions, the card and the balloon and best of a the Love from you.
How wonder and thoughtful....happy birthday mom
Reply:You could have some body lotions and body creams in it, a perfume or 2, some piece of cute clothing either a shirt or a night gown of the sort, some chocolate, ktchen appliances, personalized gifts, candles, something she might like and use, flowers (maybe sunflowers or roses) and design the basket with fancy things and glitter and ribbons!

And check this website, its very useful: http://www.associatedcontent.com/article...
Reply:What a Sweetheart! I did the same thing for my mother and she loved it so much that she cried! What are her favorite things? You can get samples of a bunch of designer perfumes. Is she a tea or coffee person? Get some favorite teas or coffee. Does she like baths? How about some lovely bath salts? (Believe it or not, the dollar store has some wonderful bath salts, lotion %26amp; shower gels--I even found georgous glass long stem flowers!) The dollar store even sells great baskets (they can be metal) and lovely tissue paper--if you nestle the items in that it looks very dramatic! If she loves jams or jellies, get a nice one from the grocery, Does she have a favorite food? Buy one and add it as a splurge if you know she won't by it for herself! You can buy great strawberries on sale (they don't have to have a long stem), melt semi-sweet chocolate carefully in the microwave (add a tablespoon of vegetable oil it will make it smooth), dip the strawberries in the chocolate. Get a small package of white chocolate, melt it as well, stir with a fork, and drizzle it over the dark chocolate--very dramatic! Or, if you're afraid that will go bad, buy pretzel rods and dip them half way, drizzle some with white chocolate, some with sprinkles, or nuts! They will keep in the freezer--hide them in tin foil.
Watch your mother and see what she needs, wants, or likes. You could add a poem or homemade card as well. You sound so sweet, she will love whatever you do! Anyone would be lucky to have you as their child!! Good luck!!

Reply:what about soaps, beauty products , jewelery, make-up,
Ask your mom what she wants
Reply:Her Favourite Chocolates, some sented candles, a book from her favourite author and erm if she's this sort of stuff ; nail varnish, makeup etc. Good luck, she'll love whatever you get her x
Reply:Get some smell good candles and some bath crystals. Make it a spa basket. Or if she is into reading make it a book basket.
Reply:Well every mum loves flowers, chocolates %26amp; wine =]
Reply:Remember material things aren't everything and so shewould probably really appreciate a homemade card or something you made for her.
You can always consider MasterCard(http://www.mastercard.com/us/personal/en... AmericanExpress(http://www10.americanexpress.com/sif/cda... gift cards. That way she can use it on anything she wants...no guessing clothes sizes, favorite scents, colors, etc.
If your mom is a "spa" mom you could go to and get a Spa Finder gift certificate. You can get them in pretty much any amount at http://www.spafinder.com/Catalog/spagift...
Or, if you want to make your own basket, consider
-"coupons" (1 free this, 1 complimentary that...make on the computer o rsome places do sell them)
-coffee beans
-books
-bath salts, lip gloss, a few candles, makeup, and a book (I like Origins for makeup. They can help you find some good products for your mom)
-make a mini-scrapbook of some good memories of you %26amp; mom (try Michael's for some good craft supplies - http://www.michaels.com/art/online/stati...
-make some fondue for her - chocolate covered fruits, marshmallows, etc. and ask dad to make a dinner
-I got my mom this flowering tea pot for Mother's Day. She loves flowers %26amp; tea so it was perfect and she loves it! (http://www.primulaproducts.com/product_c... and (http://www.primulaproducts.com/product_c...
-You can also look at the main Primula brand site, they have some other nice things, too. (http://www.primulaproducts.com/)
You can find some inspiration at http://www.everything4mom.com/, but their baskets are expensive for my budget.
Hope this helps...good luck! :o)
