What do you recommend I get as a Tattoo for my son?

I would like to get a tattoo for my newborn son. I really don't want flowers because obviously he is a boy. I have looked around and was wondering if anyone has any ideas of what I could get. I want something but I'm not really creative, It's just really hard to be female and have something tattooed for a boy... I also really don't want like a car or something else like that. Thanks for any ideas!! Oh yeah... I want to get his name above it and his birthday below it!

What do you recommend I get as a Tattoo for my son?
some of the dopes answering your question obviously didn't read it correctly and assume you're trying to tattoo your son! what idiot on earth would actually do that?

anyway . . .

I think a great idea for a newborn themed tattoo is to take your artist a copy of his foot prints or hand prints

if you're anywhere near Denver, CO I highly recommend RICH (Ces or Galen could do it too) at:

Reply:where are you putting it? you should get a really cute picture of him, and get that pic tatooed on you. that would be really special, and have it like of his face in the middle of like a flower, or if that is too girly, inside a star or something. hope this helps. :-)

did you mean tatoo you or your son? because if you meant your son, dont do it, it should be his choice when he is like 21 or something.
Reply:I also think it is not a good idea to make such a decision for him... You might like it, but what if he doesn't? Plus, I knew a woman who got a tattoo on her stomach before getting pregnant and when she gained weight, it looked all misshaped! If you son is so young, it will probably do the same as he grows up...
Reply:I agree with the two answers regarding the photo copy of your sons hand or foot prints, I have a caricature of my son on my shoulder blade, we are Scottish decent so he is wearing a kilt, and in my ultra sound he appeared to have big feet so we put big feet on him, it is a beautiful tat, I love it, just make sure what ever you choose it means something to you, maybe try something with a foot print and tie in his birth sign.
Reply:why would you want to get a tattoo for you little son??? Wait till he is 18 at least!! i mean come on your sons a baby!!! But if you must get a tattoo for him i think you should get like a little blue heart with his name and stuff in it.
Reply:why dont u...like get his name like decorated in a kool way...
Reply:Are u out of your mind?!? If it were the ones that come off it's OK. But if it wasn't you would probably regret it when your son hates it.
Reply:do you think you'll lose the kid sometime in the future? i never understood tat's, but each to their own i guess.
Reply:i don't think you should tattoo your son. I never heard of that before. Ifhe want's to get a tatoo when he's 17, ok, but you shoudl not make desicions like that for him. He will have to live his whole life with that.
Reply:Maybe you could just get him name and his birthday on it, who said that it had to have a symbol or picture!
Reply:to the CRAZY LADY:

why would u want to tattoo your baby?! unless u are lyk psycho or something.....i think it should be his descion when he is older... and another thing lady! how could u even think of letting your son go through something like that when he is a newborn...you sicken me......sikko u should be ashamed!! it should be the person who is getting a needle prodded into his skin actually going through the pains descion! and if u are thinking of getting a tattoo and u weren't tlaking about your baby.....YOU STILL SICKEN ME U SIKKO TATTOOS ARE TRASHY which means u must be trashy if u are gonna get one no offence to ppl if u have one....not to u psycho lady! and if u ever think about tattooing a baby when they can't even defend themselves........sikko!
Reply:how about his newborn foot prints? done in blue. i think that would be adorable.
Reply:...it sounds like you're tatooing yourself ^^the answer above kinda confused me but you could get like a like small teddy bear or something...that's pretty neutral...and it'd go well. good luck!
Reply:I would say to stick with something tribal- or a symbol - times change and so do styles- simple and timeless tats are the best kind.
Reply:I don't think you should give him a tatoo until he's old enough to decide for himself.. cause he'll have to have it the rest of his life. Also as he grows it will stretch out the tatoo and it won't look good when he's older... plus tatoos really hurt and babies skin is really sensative.. imagine how bad it will hurt for him.
Reply:i have baby footprints with the name on top and birthday under it
Reply:his name in chinese/japanese with coy swimming around it.
